James Alan “Jimmy” Wilbur, 59, passed away October 2, 2017 at his home. 

He was born in Tell City, Indiana on August 28, 1958 to the late Jennings and Selma (Bauer) Wilbur.  Also preceding him in death was an infant brother, Richard Wayne.

Jimmy was a 1976 graduate of Tell City High School.  He had worked as a Boilermaker for Local Union 374 for 36 years, retiring in 2013.  Jimmy was a member of Loyal Order of Moose 1424, Sons of American Legion and VFW Auxiliary Post 2939.  He enjoyed traveling, fishing, NASCAR, IU basketball, spending time with his friends and his son and grandson, Derek and Trent.

Surviving is his son, Derek Wilbur, Cannelton; grandson, Trent Wilbur; companion, Kathy Hess, Tell City; brothers, Larry Wilbur (Stephanie) Cannelton, and Ronnie Wilbur, Tell City.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Bro. Eddie Olberding will officiate.  Burial will follow in Lilly Dale Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00-8:00 PM with a Moose Lodge service at 6:30 PM and Thursday from 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
