Tell City, Indiana

Jesse Zuelly, Jr., 66, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at 4:50 PM CST at Hospice & Palliative Care of Louisville, Kentucky. Jesse was born April 26, 1939 in Spencer County to the late Jesse and Sybil (Dillingham) Zuelly. He was married to Willie Judith "Judy" Allen on June 25, 1959 in Shawneetown, Illinois. Judy passed away January 9, 2005. Also preceding him in death was a brother Marvin Zuelly.

After graduating from Chrisney High School in 1957, Jesse was an electronics operations chief in the United States Army, retiring after 26 years as a senior supply sergeant. He and his wife, Judy, spent 38 years of living in Europe, Asia and numerous places in the United States during his military and civilian careers. After retiring from the military, Jesse worked for Sprint Long Distance Carrier in Kansas City for 10 years before returning to Perry County to retire.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2939, American Legion Post #213 and a member of National Rifle Association. Jesse loved working in the yard and attending estate sales and auctions.

He is survived by:

1 daughter, Vicky Zuelly of New Albany, Indiana

3 sons, Jesse Zuelly III of Princeton, Texas

Don Zuelly of Floyd Knobs, Indiana

Tim Zuelly of Tell City, Indiana

1 sister, Jesse Shreeve of Boonville, Indiana

9 grandchildren, Jesse Zuelly IV, Nicole, Lindsey, and Amanda Zuelly, Robert Schuler, Karma Clark, Andrea Baber, Noah and Max Robertson

1 expected great grandson Alex Robertson

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Huber Funeral Home Tell City Chapel with entombment at Greenwood Cemetery with military graveside rites. Rev. Bill Reid will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM CST on Friday and on Saturday from 9:00 AM CST until service time at Huber Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
