Tell City, Indiana -

Jean Bailey, 72, formerly of Grandview, passed away at 9:40 AM on Saturday, July 4, 2009, at Golden Living Center-Lincoln Hills, Tell City, Indiana.

She was born on June 2, 1937, in Cloverport, Kentucky. Her parents were the late Theatus and Bertha (Smith) Applegate. Also preceding her in death were her children, Donald Ray Bailey, in infancy, Donna Sue Bailey and Michael Bailey, her sisters, Mae Blair and Mildred Bland and brothers, Otis, Bill and Curtis Applegate.

Doris Jean married Wyman Bailey on July 17, 1954, in Tell City.

She had been employed at Indiana Cotton Mill, formerly in Cannelton and also at Integra Bank in Grandview.

A homemaker, Jean enjoyed reading, quilting, crocheting, fishing, nature and spending time with her pets.

She attended Revival Center Church in Grandview.

Husband - Wyman Bailey, Tell City, Indiana

Daughters - Debbie Davidson, Tennyson, Indiana

Gale Griepenstroh, Grandview, Indiana

Grandchildren - Molly Gabbard, Chris Davidson, Travis Raven, Josh Bailey and Nick Davidson

Great Granchildren - Emma Davidson and Tristan Raven

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City, with burial in Grandview City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, Rockport, and from 9:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City.

Rev. Paul Haaf will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grandview Library or Chrisney Library.

I am so glad we got to see you all the last few years and spend time with Aunt Jean & Uncle Wyman. I really enjoyed our phone calls and our time talking about old times whe we got to visist. I love you all so much and wish I could have been with you during this time. Please keep in touch.
