Edgar Kellems

Tell City, Indiana Edgar A. Kellems, 87, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. He was born May 29, 1924 in Tell City, son of the late Roscoe and Lola (Hagedorn) Kellems. Also preceding him in death were his wife Juanita in 1997, sons, Steve and Jeff Kellems, grandson, Timmy Kellems and brothers, Eugene, Victor and Hubert Kellems. A graduate of Tell City High School, Edgar then went to Evansville to help build LST's. He was united in marriage to Juanita Jones on August 27, 1955, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Edgar retired from Operating Engineers Local #181, where he remained a member, and was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church and. Edgar enjoyed working on small engine repair, calling square dances, and visiting with family and friends. He spent several years volunteering with Rural Youth. He is survived by a daughter; Pam Krygielka (Greg), Tell City, sons; Ronald Kellems (Gerry), Tell City, Kenneth Kellems (Andrea), Rainer, Washington, Brian Kellems, Yelm, Washington, sisters; Mildred Graves, Tell City, Ruth Peter (Jim), Tell City, Margie Block (Donald), Greenwood, Carol Bailey, Tell City, brother; Dr. Robert Kellems, Florida; 15 grandchildren, Missy Craig, Jennifer Bryant, Steven Kellems, Logan Kellems, Landon Kellems, Jesse Kellems, Tressa Kellems, Cody Kellems, Christina Kellems, Samantha Kellems, Cassandra James, Mason Krygielka, Brandon Kellems, Brianna Kellems and Gracie Kellems and 12 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at St. Mark's Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday and from 8:00 until 9:30 AM Tuesday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Catholic Church.
