Tell City, Indiana- Harold A. Hess, Sr., 91, passed away February 18, 2017 at Golden Living Center. He was born in Tell City, Indiana on March 19, 1925 to the late John and Cecilia (Brinksneader) Hess. Also preceding him in death are his wife, Clara Mae (Reed) Hess; a daughter, Judy Ann Clark; sons, Harold Hess, Jr., Gary Powers and Ronnie Powers; sisters, infant twins, Catherine and Cecilia, Hilberta Hess and Allocieus Neyenhaus; and a brother, Hubert Hess. Harold was a World War II Army veteran. He retired in 1985 from Schwab Safe as a welder. Harold was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and William Tell Senior Citizens. He enjoyed dancing, working on cars, hunting and fishing. Surviving are his children, Tom Hess (Rose Parker), Cannelton, Larry Hess (Miranda), Tell City, Cheryl Barnett (Mark), Evansville, Ray Powers, Jr. (Diana), Gentryville and Victor Hess, New Orleans, LA; brothers, Denny Hess, Tell City, Ronnie Hess, Bloomington, Mike Hess, Leopold and Steve Hess, Tell City; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, where there will be military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post #2939. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00-7:00 PM and Wednesday 9:00-11:00AM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
