Tell City, Indiana - Justin A. Baysinger, 90, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015, at his home. He was born in Leopold, Indiana, on May 10, 1924. His parents were the late Robert and Lucy (James) Baysinger. Also preceding him in death were his wife, Evelyn (Webb) Baysinger and his sisters, Mary Hubert and Martha Kaufman. Justin was a 1942 graduate of Tell City High School. He was well known for his athletic ability and love of sports. He played baseball the Tell City Grays, a semi-pro baseball league and I-K League, which was an Indiana-Kentucky League. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Justin and his brother, Jim, retired in 1985, after 40 years of owning and operating Baysinger Brothers Shell Station, formerly located on the corner of 12th Street and Highway 37. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #1172, American Legion Post #213 and St. Paul Catholic Church. Justin is survived by his sons, Ron Baysinger, Evansville and Larry Baysinger (Cindy), Indianapolis; brother, Jim Baysinger and grandsons, Adam, Eric, Nolan and Patrick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Friday, April 10, 2015, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Rev. Barnabas Gillespie, OSB, officiating, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, where there will be military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post #213. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Thursday and from 8:30 until 9:30 AM on Friday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
