Margaret Sturgeon

Margaret E. "Maggie" Sturgeon, 101, passed away November 11, 2019 at Golden Living Center Lincoln Hills. She was born January 1, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan daughter of the late Leroy and Elizabeth (Armstrong) Hayward. Also preceding her in death was her husband Russell Sturgeon; children, Della Jean Esarey in infancy, Delta Stow and Phillip "Tip" Esarey; siblings, Elmer Hayward, Violet Hayward, Loretta Hayward, Anna Mae Hayward and Helen Hayward. Maggie was a member of Branchville United Methodist Church and was well known for her quilting and also enjoyed crocheting. She retired from Perry Central School where she was a cook. She is survived by her daughter, Bernita Branham, Tell City and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. There will be a celebration of life at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Twilight Towers. Huber Funeral Home will be assisting her family with her arrangements. Family requests no flowers to be sent. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
