Alice Kowal

Tell City, Indiana -

Alice Irene (Mills) Kowal, 96, was born on August 27, 1928, a daughter of Henry L. and Gertrude (Loftis) Mills. She passed away peacefully at Oakwood Health Campus on July 6, 2025.

Alice retired from Honeywell Space Division in Phoenix, Arizona in 1993. She also worked at Production Plus in Arizona, where she soldered diodes onto computer boards until she was 79 years old. Alice loved using her hands and was an avid crafter. She loved doing puzzles, embroidery work and baking. She has made several beautiful quilts, baby quilts, tablecloths, and pillowcases.

Alice loved the Lord and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Tell City.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Janice (Curt) Songer of Dale, and two sons, Ronald (Brenda) Lloyd and Daniel (Terri Ward) Lloyd of Tell City; grandchildren, Scott (Alyson) Schank of New York, Traci Simpson, Danny V. (Jamie) Lloyd, Kimberly (Mark) Williams, John (Jennifer) Baumeister, Tim Baumeister (Veronica Hinke) all of Tell City, Collin (Kamiron) Lloyd of San Diego; 24 great grandchildren, and 21 great- great grandchildren. She also has a brother, Marion (Rosie) Mills of Evansville, and a sister, Henrietta Sue Dooley of Tell City. She has two sisters-in-law, Jeannie Mills of Phoenix, Arizona, and Barbara Mills of Tell City.

Alice was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy L. Wheeler; siblings, Betty (Pat) Frazier, Hairlyn (JC) Freeman, Maydell (Ralph) Frank, Charles Mills and Robert Mills and spouses David Lloyd, James McGuire, Oscar Ballis and William Kowal.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CDT on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time.
