Barbara Alvey

Cannelton, Indiana Barbara E. Alvey, 83, passed away at her home on April 1, 2020. She was born in Perry County, Indiana on September 9, 1936 to the late Herman and Irene (Carmen) Alvey. Barbara attended St. Michael Grade School and was a 1954 graduate of Cannelton High School. She had worked at Snyder Drug Store, formerly in Cannelton and retired from Werner Drug Store in Tell City. Barbara was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and enjoyed bowling, reading, crocheting, doing work around her home and yard, watching IU basketball and having breakfast and lunches with her friends. Surviving is her sister, Patricia Peyton of Murfreesboro, TN; brothers, Robert (Ernie) Alvey, San Angelo, TX and William Alvey, Tell City; several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Due to Covid-19 mandates, funeral services will be private with burial in New Cliff Cemetery.
