Barbara V. Glenn, 83, passed away on June 12, 2026, at Heartford House Center in Owensboro, Kentucky, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Willowshade, Kentucky on June 28, 1942, daughter of Jesse and Edith (Ballard) Gentry.

Barbara was a graduate of David Lipcomb University in Nashville, Tennessee and went on to earn her master’s degree from Ball State University, which she was very proud of. She had taught school and was a librarian for over 27 years, retiring from Breckinridge County School Corporation in Kentucky.

On December 26, 1974, Barbara married Billy Glenn. They shared 38 years together until his passing in 2012. Together, Barbara and Billy raised bulldogs and were long time members of the Kentuckiana Bulldog Club. She was also a member of the Perry County Memorial Hospital Women’s Auxiliary.

Barbara enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, making crafts and always looked forward going to Hobby Lobby to look for her next project. She was an excellent baker, especially proud of her pecan pies, an avid reader, she would often be found reading her favorite books to the grandchildren and liked to attend Christian music concerts.

Most of all, Barbara loved visiting with all her grandchildren and supporting them at their sporting events. After moving to Tell City, she remained close with her Derby friends; a community that she had grown to love after living there for many years.

Surviving are her children, Billie (Dale) Taylor, Jim (Doris) Glenn and Joe (Jan) Glenn; a sister, Velva White; grandchildren, Tasha (Neal) Snyder, Tim (Amber) Taylor, Winston (Abigail) Glenn, Colton (Hannah) Glenn, Eric (Brittney) Glenn and Katrina Harney; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and nephews Shannon White and Shane White.
