Bertha A. Sprinkle, 87, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
She was born in Bristow on January 22, 1939, a daughter of Onan and Jessie Marie Aders. She attended school in Bristow and was united in marriage to Thomas Sprinkle, Jr. in 1956.
In her younger years, Bertha cooked at several local restaurants including Jean & Ray’s, Snappy Grill, 231 Truck Stop and D.J.’s. She never turned down a chance to play cards or collect from a few slot machines but it was always family visits and get togethers with friends at McDonald’s and The Freezer that brought her the most happiness. You always knew where you stood with Bertha and that, alone, has already provided her family with many fond memories to continue to share. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, David Sprinkle (Rita), Roger Sprinkle, Debbie Taylor (Lester), Sherry Sandage (Ronnie) and Beverly Sprinkle; grandchildren, Kristina Longest-Long (James), Chastity Edwards (Blake), Tiffany Taylor, Kelly Ammon (Randall), Nathan Knight, Brittney Butt (T.J.), Dylan Sandage and Katelin Stacik (Timmy); several great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter.
Preceding her in death was her parents, Onan and Jessie Marie Aders; husband Tom Sprinkle, Jr.; daughter, Lesa Sandage; siblings, Mary Wanda Lindsey, Jimmy Aders and Helen Brockman; nephews, Greg Lindsey and Mike Lindsey; son-in-law, John Sandage; grandson-in-law, Jimmy Longest and brothers-in-law, Delmar Lindsey and Art Brockman.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM CDT on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until service time. Rev. Joe Noble will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to Beard Cemetery.
