Leopold, Indiana Beula L. James, 88, passed away February 10, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born in Tell City, Indiana on September 17, 1931 to the late Frank and Hettie (Simpson) Malone. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Raymond James in 1986; sisters, Alice Ray and Beula's twin, Eula Smith and a brother, Ralph Malone. Beula was a 1950 graduate of Tell City High School. After high school she went to work at the former Fisher Chair Company. On February 3, 1951 Beula was united in marriage to Raymond James. They then moved from Tell City to Leopold where they started their family. A loving wife, mother and homemaker, Beula also worked as a cook for Perry Central School Cooperation and retired as a cook supervisor from Branchville Correctional Facility. She loved spending time with her family and watching her children and all her grandchildren's activities. Beula was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and also attended St. Paul Catholic Church upon moving back to Tell City. Surviving are her children, Larry James (Marlene), Leopold, Gayle Taylor (Grant), Nancy Schroeder (Alan), all of Tell City, Pam Ernst (Bob), Bloomington, Ray James (Melissa), Branchville, Paul James (Kristi), Mitchell and Mary Blessinger (JR), Bloomington; a brother, Earl Malone (Sandy), Newburgh; sisters in law, Carol Ann James (Dick White), Margie James and Mildred Jobe, all of Leopold; 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM CST Friday, February 14, 2020 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Rev. Brian Esarey will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00-7:00 PM and Friday 8:30-10:15 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine Cemetery or Perry Central Athletics.
