Bobbi Sabelhaus

Grandview, Indiana

Roberta A. “Bobbi” Sabelhaus, 65, passed away on November 26, 2024, at her home, with her two sons by her side. 

She was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on October 26, 1959. 

Bobbi worked as a CNA for over 20 years, retiring from The Waters of Huntingburg in 2022. She also worked for The Timbers of Jasper. 

If you ever met Bobbi, you soon learned she was honest, hard-working, faith driven and a giving person. She loved her animals, especially her dog, Abbey, and she adored her four sons and loved to tell you about them. Bobbi enjoyed flower gardening, drawing, canning, yard work and spending time with her family.

 Surviving are her sons, Dave Merritt and Justin Sabelhaus; granddaughter, Makenzie Sabelhaus; stepfather, Vernon Mitchell; sisters, Theresa Galey (Curt), Tamera Merritt (Mark Brinksneader) and Misty Merritt-Bolin (Tracy) and a brother, Bud Mitchell, Jr. 

She is preceded in death by her sons, Fred Merritt and Frank Sabelhaus; her companion of 23 years, Pat McKinney; mother, Joyce Ann (Nugent) Mitchell; father, Jerry E. Merritt; and siblings, Debbie Mitchell, Shannon Merritt, Wyman Therber and Toby Merritt.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM CST on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00-6:00 PM and Sunday from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
