Camiren Jay Etienne

January 26, 2004 — August 5, 2024

Tell City, Indiana –

Camiren J. Etienne, 20, passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on August 5, 2024, on his way home from Bloomington.

Camiren was born on January 26, 2004, the son of Jared and Cherie (Zellers) Etienne. He was a 2022 graduate of Perry Central High School and was a student at Indiana University, where he was majoring in Real Estate and Business Management. This summer Camiren was completing an internship at Eagle Point Realty in Bloomington, where he was ambitious and excited to learn.

While in high school, Camiren was an academic honors student dedicating much of his time throughout grade school and high school participating in travel baseball and later basketball, where he made lifelong friends. Athletically, he excelled in soccer, football, baseball and basketball, displaying natural talent and fierce competitiveness. He also played intramural football and basketball at IU. Camiren was a 10-year member of Perry County 4-H’s Leopold Gang.

Camiren always showed up for the people he loved most. He was a loving son, grandson and brother who adored his siblings and would often be found holding his baby brothers while cheering on his sister at her athletic events; he was always so proud of them. Camiren enjoyed spending time on the river, or playing golf, with family and friends. He lit up every room he entered with a dimpled smile and that sparkle in his eyes. In his short time in this world, Camiren made a lasting impact on the family and friends he leaves behind.

Camiren is survived by his parents; Jared and Cherie Etienne; a sister, Jada Etienne; and brothers, Cannon and Wake Etienne; grandparents, Rebecca Etienne and Mark and Cheryl Zellers; great grandmothers, Sue Miller, Patsy Zellers and Jean Maurer and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Etienne; great grandparents, Billy Miller, “Poodie” Zellers, Carol Maurer, Ida Mae Etienne, Howard Etienne and Rosemary Etienne.

A Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 9, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church with burial at a later date.
