Cathy Jo Board, 49, passed away, suddenly and unexpectedly on February 17, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

She was born on January 25, 1977, daughter of Marlene (Sutcliffe) and Joseph Scarboro. Cathy was a 1995 graduate of Tell City High School. She was united in marriage on May 12, 2001, to Matthew Board.

Cathy was an amazing woman who loved to travel, especially to the ocean, deer hunt with Matthew, ride motorcycles and tend to her 30 plus chickens. She enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends, but she was most proud of being a mother and grandmother.

Cathy was a superintendent at Masterbrand in Ferdinand, where she worked for nearly 30 years and was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 2939 Auxiliary where she was currently the conductress.

Surviving is her husband of 25 years, Matthew Board; sons, Tyler Watson (Katie McFall), Dylan Watson (Madi) and Myles Board (Tiffany Thom); her beloved granddaughter, Cassandra Jo Watson; her mother, Marlene Scarboro; brother, John Scarboro (Sharon) and three nieces.

Preceding her in death was her father, Joe Scarboro and grandparents, John and Iva Lee Sutcliffe, Louis Scarboro and Ida Mae “Hack” Alvey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Frank Heeke will officiate. Burial will follow in Luxemberger Cemetery, Oriole.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2006, from 2:00 PM-7:00 PM and Tuesday from 9:00 AM-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
