Cannelton, Indiana
Christina A. “Chris” Lawalin, 70, passed away on April 14, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, surrounded by her family.
She was born on October 31, 1953, daughter of on Leon “Bing” and Julia (Gude) Ahl.
A 1971 graduate of Cannelton High School, Chris worked for Perry County Memorial Hospital as a custodian and had also worked at William Tell Woodcrafters.
Chris enjoyed spending time researching genealogy, crocheting, sewing, reading and volunteering at the Cannelton Food Pantry. Above all, family was her greatest joy. Chris was spunky, feisty and straight forward, and had a heart of gold.
Surviving is her husband, Kenny Lawalin; her daughters, Mandy Howe (Brad) and Annie Scamahorn (Jason); step sons, Brian Lawalin (Marion) and Nathan Lawalin (Jamie); sister, Cheryl Morton (Larry); brothers, Richard Ahl (Joyce), Brian Grimes (Mike) and Phillip Ahl (Tonya Hunt); sister-in-law, Terri Ahl; grandchildren, Caleb and Braelyn Howe, Wes and Garrett Scamahorn, Taylor Fischer (Ross), Cody Lawalin (Sarah), Haylee Lawalin (Chase James), Emalee Lawalin, Terissa Cravens (Caleb) and Makenzy Roark and a great granddaughter, Ivy Jean Lawalin.
Preceding her in death were her parents and brothers, Steve and Kevin Ahl.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM CDT on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Pastor Ann Skiba will officiate.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cannelton Food Pantry.
