Clara B. Dickerson, 96, passed away on June 28, 2026, at Oakwood Health Campus.
She was born on July 1, 1929, to Knox and Nora (Hurst) Loney. Clara was a 1947 graduate of Tell City High School and soon after married William C. Dickerson on June 1, 1947.
She was a member of Hawesville Baptist and attended Tell City First Church of the Nazarene.
Clara never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with her friends. She was an amazing cook that was well known for her bread rolls. A sports fan, Clara could be found supporting her sons when they were younger or now, cheering for Indiana University or the Indianapolis Colts. During her stay at Oakwood, she found pleasure in completing jigsaw puzzles, nearly 100 of them, crossword puzzles or coloring in meditation coloring books.
Surviving are her children, Bill Dickerson (Dixie) and Kathy Dickerson; granddaughter, Deidra Harpenau (Andrew); a great grandson, due in November and nieces, Debbie Hoffman (Mark), Candy Clepper (Mike), Carla York and Shirley Clark.
Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, her son, Jimmy Dickerson and siblings, Mae Loney, Ben Loney, Joretta Lawrence and Earl Loney.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Bill Reid will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00-7:00 PM and on Thursday from 9:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to First Nazarene Church in Tell City.
