Colton James Thompson, 9, passed away on April 20, 2026, at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
Colton was born on March 14, 2017, the son of Heath Thompson and Kacie (Chapman) Holland.
He attended Heritage Hills Baptist Church in Santa Claus and was a first-grade student at William Tell Elementary. If he had his way, Colton preferred staying home and seeing what ruckus he could stir up in his neighborhood.
He was a typical young boy, enjoying sports, especially baseball, basketball and golf. He often practiced his John Cena wrestling moves in his living room with his dog, Cane.
Colton was quite the young entrepreneur, buying, selling and trading bicycles. At last count, he had about ten and if he wanted another, he figured out how to make it work monetarily.
He always looked forward to Spring Break trips to visit family in Florida because that also meant fishing would be involved.
His family includes his mother, Kacie (Chapman) Holland; father, Heath Thompson; brothers, Harold and Elvis Meserve; grandparents, Harold and Pam Chapman, Phillip Thompson (Carla) and Kim Gerlach and great grandparents, Terry and Anita Hunt and Bob Thompson. Colton considered Braxton, Cullen, Abel and Charles some of his best buddies.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM CDT on April 23, 2026, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until service time.
Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
