David Brent Dartt, 51, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
He was born on February 19, 1974. David enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia, playing basketball, listening to music and traveling. He was a devoted family man who deeply loved his mom and cherished his time with his children, grandchildren and friends.
David had a great sense of humor and quick with. He loved to tease his sister, tell jokes and make everyone laugh.
Surviving are his children, Jennifer Proctor (Brandon), Amber Coyle (Joey) and Johnathon Dartt (Kendall); sister, Jennifer Baumeister (John); brothers, Johnny Dartt (Chelsey) and Rodney Lamkin (Tonya); grandchildren, Jakoby and Jensen, Kolton, Xavier, Bentley and Kenzleigh, Addy and Parker and his stepfather, Larry James.
Preceding him in death were his parents; Mary (Applegate) James and David Dartt and three grandchildren, Nevaeh, Brynleigh and Jacory.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CST on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel. Pastor Jason Johns will officiate with burial to follow in Derby Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Because the loss of David was so sudden, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to help with his funeral expenses.
