Oriole, Indiana Dennis Wayne Pekinpaugh, 67, passed away December 22, 2020 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany. He was born in Tell City on June 23, 1953 to John and Cecil (Howell) Pekinpaugh who preceded him in death along with an infant brother, David Lee Pekinpaugh. Raised in Gatchel, Dennis was a 1971 graduate of Perry Central High School where he excelled in the sport of basketball. He was united in marriage to Dee Dea Johnson on June 7, 1975 at Tell City First United Methodist Church. Dennis was employed by Mulzer Crushed Stone for 43 years, retiring in 2015 as Production Manager. He was a member of Branchville United Methodist Church and former member of Oriole United Methodist Church. Dennis enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating and working on his farm. His most joy came from spending time with family and grandchildren, especially attending their activities. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Dee Dea Pekinpaugh, Oriole; children, Jesse Pekinpaugh (Sharon) and Brittany Edwards (Wes), all of Oriole; grandchildren, Allie and Wyatt Pekinpaugh, Cohen, Cason Wayne and Crue Edwards; siblings, Karen Mosby (Bob), Evanston, Lori Anderson (Bob), Beaverdam, VA, Joe Pekinpaugh (Yvette), Magnet, Barbara Schaad, Ferdinand and Linda Clark (Gary), Tell City and Godson, Logan Mosby, Huntingburg. Funeral services will be private with burial in Walker Cemetery, Branchville. Josh Harris will officiate. Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel in assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Walker Cemetery.
