Diane J. Mahoney, 73, passed away on January 27, 2026, at Oakwood Health Campus. She was born on April 23, 1952, to Gervase and Lillian (Fornaciari) Dauby, who preceded her in death. Diane was a 1970 graduate of Tell City High School and soon married David Mahoney on December 26, 1970.
Diane was a cook for Tell City Troy Township School Corporation where she worked in the cafeterias at St. Paul School, Tell City Junior High School and Tell City Jr-Sr High School, where she retired in 2017. She was a faithful and devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; Diane loved her church and her Lord.
Diane enjoyed being outdoors and horseback riding. She always looked forward to visiting her grandchildren and supporting them in all their school and sport activities.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, David Mahoney; sons, Chad Mahoney (Stacie) of Mt. Juliet, TN and Michael Mahoney (Charity) of Elberfeld; brother, Gary Dauby (Lynn) of Tell City; sisters, Donna Kessler of Tell City and her twin, Darlene Welling (Dick) of Cincinnati, OH and her beloved grandchildren, Colt, Cade, Jaycie and Brylee Mahoney, Joseph, Michael, Kimber and David Mahoney.
Diane's family would like to thank the amazing nurses and staff with Gentiva Hospice for the love, care, and respect that they gave her. It will always be appreciated and remembered.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM CST on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. President Roy Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be private in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time, at the funeral home.
