Donna Laflin

Donna Kay Laflin, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on September 12, 2025, at the age of 79.

Born in Tobinsport, Indiana on December 12, 1945, Donna was raised by her devoted grandparents, Ellis and Emma Weatherholt.

A graduate of Tell City High School and Brescia College, Donna married the love of her life, Terrill Lee Laflin, on May 11, 1968. Together, they raised their daughter, Miechelle, in Tell City, Indiana. Donna was involved in various community organizations, including the Perry County Humane Society, Perry County 4-H, Perry County Chamber of Commerce, Perry County Redevelopment Authority, Kentuckiana REACT, Perry County Council on Aging, and SWIRCA. Her passion for advocating for the elderly, animals, and children shone through her commitments to these causes.

As an adult leader in 4-H, Donna shared her love for dogs through teaching dog obedience classes. She enjoyed being active in politics and served as a Perry County Democratic Chairwoman.

During her career, Donna had over 20 years of experience in working with long-term care, retiring as Manager of Medi-Home Care. Donna and Terrill eventually retired to Hendersonville, Tennessee, where they enjoyed camping, antiquing, music, and crafting before settling in Louisville, Kentucky.

Donna will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Terrill Lee Laflin, her daughter Miechelle Abma and husband, Shawn, her three cherished grandchildren: Trevor, Spencer, and Parker Abma. She is also survived by her siblings and extended family. Donna’s legacy of kindness, compassion, and dedication to serving others will be forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Services were private. Huber Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
