Ed Howell

Edward L. Howell, 70, passed away at his home on August 9, 2026.

He was born on September 27, 1955, the son of Forrest E. “Ed” and Alma (Bryant) Howell. He graduated from Cannelton High School and retired from Schaefer & Paulin Auto Parts.

Ed loved going to sprint car races. He was a respected mechanic and was fascinated with anything Mopar.

Ed is survived by his grandchildren, Leayn Howell and James Howell; great grandchildren, Ziegyn and Zoe; a sister and a brother.

His parents, “Big Ed” and Alma Howell, his wife, Elaine (Stirk) Howell and son, Carl Howell preceded him in death.

Ed enjoyed his family, friends and former customers and wanted to be remembered by stories and memories shared among them.

Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel, is assisting his family with his wishes.
