Ethel J. Daugherty, 83, passed away on April 11, 2026.
She was born near Rome on July 19, 1942, a daughter of Chester Lee and Mayme (Seibert) Jones.
In 1960, Ethel graduated from Cannelton High School and later retired from Masterbrand where she worked for several years. She was a member of Lincolnland Worship Center in Santa Claus. Ethel will be remembered for her cake decorating skills, her love of dancing and, most recently, looking forward to going on car rides around the county.
Surviving is her husband, Eldon Daugherty; daughters, Karen Howell (Greg), Dinah Grigsby (Joel), Kim Leistner and Amy Reed (Ray); grandchildren, Cody, Brandon and Evan Howell, Ashley Gentry, Eric Embry, J.P., Ike and Joey Coyle, Austin Reed and Amity McDaniel; several great and great-great grandchildren; siblings, Ike Jones (Diane), Chester Lee Jones, Dave Jones (Diane), Carol Sandage, Carl Jones (Cindy), Joyce Ahl (Dick), Sue Burst (J.R. Fuchs), Larry Jones (Carol) and Randy Jones (Mary) and a sister-in-law, Patty Jones.
Ethel was preceded in death by her parents Chester and Mayme Jones; daughter Cheryl Anson, in infancy; brother, Loren Jones; sister, Mary Kellems; sister-in-law, Helen Jones; brothers in law, Herman Kellems and Freddie “J.R.” Sandage and son-in law, Terry Leistner.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM CDT on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lincolnland Worship Center.
