Evan Ewing

Evan W. Ewing, 18, passed away on August 18, 2025.

He was born in St. Petersburg, Florida on February 20, 2007, the son of Robert W. Ewing and Jamie L. Hockenberry. Evan was a student at Tell City High School.

He loved to be outdoors, especially hiking, swimming and cliff jumping. Evan enjoyed doing small engine repair, especially on his scooter. He liked listening to music, most recently he was into older country artists, but liked rap too. Evan had a red bearded dragon named Lava, but he sometimes would call her “Pretty Girl”.

Surviving him are his father, Robert Ewing; foster dad, Jason Corley (“Jay Jay” to Evan when he wanted to pester him); sister, Lyndsey Ewing and foster sister, Madison Corley. Evan’s mother Jamie Hockenberry preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 PM on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with family and friends sharing stories about Evan at 6:00 PM.
