Glenward Schroeder

Tell City, Indiana Glenward A. "Glen" Schroeder, 85, passed away on March 23, 2020. He was born in Tell City, Indiana on July 26, 1934 to the late Leslie and Myrtle (Dauby) Schroeder. Also preceding him in death was his wife of 56 years, Beverly Ann (Schneider) Schroeder in 2015; his son, Jack Schroeder; great granddaughter and name sake, Bria Glen Newton and brothers, Kenneth, Alfred and Paul Schroeder. Glen was a 1954 graduate of Tell City High School and was a U.S. Army veteran, where he served as a military policeman. He attended the Kentucky College of Barbering and was owner of Schroeder's Barber Shop for over 60 years. He also served as Tell City policeman many years ago. He was a member of the American Legion Post #213, Southern Indiana Horseman's Club and Perry County Coon Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing his fiddle, bluegrass music, IU basketball and sitting in the barber shop socializing with his friends. After getting off work, you could find him at his farm, where a peaceful evening included gardening and farming. Surviving are his children, Mike Schroeder (Lori), Pat Schroeder and Susie Schroeder, all of Tell City; grandchildren, Dawn Roper, Brandy Newton, Angie Foury, Amanda Ames, Matt Schroeder, Amy Kleeman and Jessica Seger; great grandchildren, Bryce Newton, Jana and Trent Foury, Lexi and Weston Schroeder, Amaleigh, Arielle and Avalynne Kleeman, Skylar and Easton Seger, Rex Roper and Adalyne, Camden and Claire Ames. Glen was well thought of and had many friends, but due to state mandates, funeral services will be private, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
