Hazel M. Voges, 91, passed away on August 12, 2026, at Oakwood Health Campus in Tell City.

She was born in Leopold, Indiana on October 4, 1934, daughter of Clyde and Pearl (Sprinkle) Ward.

Hazel was united in marriage on November 21, 1953, to Cletus Voges. They shared 65 years together before his death in 2018.

After the death of her husband, Hazel moved to assisted living at Oakwood Health Campus where she thrived. There, she loved to socialize with the residents and nurses. She looked forward to the walks she would take and the many card games that were played. In her younger years, Hazel enjoyed dancing to country music and listening to church hymns.

Hazel was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She had worked at General Electric Motors Division before serving as the Perry County Jail Matron and Cook for over 10 years.

Surviving are her children, Debbie Lawrence (Gerald “Tony”) West Chester, OH, Denny Voges of Tell City and Bruce Voges, St. Meinrad; grandchildren, Jason Jackson, Lafayette and Jordyn Lawrence, Cincinnati, OH.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and brothers, Ralph, Elmer, Floyd and Danny Ward.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Tony Hollowell will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation will also be on Tuesday from 8:30-10:30 AM CDT at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
