Helen C. York, 94, passed away on April 25, 2025, surrounded by her family.

She was born on December 26, 1930, to Charles and Mary (Stiles) Kellems.

In 1991, Helen retired from General Electric after 24 years. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ.

Helen enjoyed traveling, going to yard sales, and watching the RFD channel. She looked forward to visits from friends and family and she loved telling stories about her past and growing up in Cannelton. Helen was spunky, witty and always pleasant. She will be missed by so many.

Surviving are her children, John York (Kathy), Sharon Seelye (Lloyd), Marilyn York, Pat York and Jeff York (Bev) and her grandchildren, Jami York Hernandez (Will) and J.T. York, II.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, John T. “J.T.” York; son, Steven York; daughter-in-law, Cindy McLain-York; son-in-law, Patrick Ramsey; siblings, Myrtle Tate (Howard), Herman Kellems, Thelma Wagner (Forrest), Irene Hammack (Paul) and Stella Ruth Kellems, in infancy and a cousin, “Aunt” Vivian Stiles-Kellams (Ed).

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CDT on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Pastor Paul Alvey will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00-7:00 PM and Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
