Hubert F. Harpenau, 91, passed away on December 14, 2024, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand.
He was born on July 1, 1933, to Herman and Anna (Hagedorn) Harpenau.
Hubert was a veteran of the United States Army and was extremely honored to experience a recent trip with the Honor Flight of Southern Indiana.
He was a lifetime member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, where he was caretaker of the church cemetery for many years and served as a PSC board member for over 45 years.
Hubert enjoyed fishing, gardening, mowing grass and playing golf. Taking drives and visiting with people was also one of his favorite things to do. He and his late wife, Ruth Ann, would never miss a Saturday at the Corydon Jamboree or Wednesday night euchre games.
Surviving is his son, Craig Harpenau and wife, Sara; grandchildren, Samantha Hubert (Byron), Sidney Raetz (Billy) and Sloan Voges (Josh); great grandchildren, Roman, June and Chip Hubert, Cooper and Camden Raetz and Vivian Voges; and sister-in-law, Sandy Cassidy.
Preceding Hubert in death were his parents; his wife of 67 years, Ruth Ann (Fergason) Harpenau in 2023; a sister, Rita Mulzer and brother, Paul Harpenau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, with Rev. Luke Waugh officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00-6:00 PM CST at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel and on Tuesday from 9:00-9:45 CST at St. Isidore Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Honor Flight of Southern Indiana or Scenic Hills at the Monastery Activity Fund.
