J. R. Sandage

Freddie A. “J.R.” Sandage, Jr., 75, passed away on November 6, 2025, at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

He was born on February 9, 1950, the son of Freddie A., Sr. and Helen Lorene. (Stowe) Sandage.

J.R. married Carol Jean Jones on September 11, 1971, at Lilly Dale Church of Christ. He worked at Peerless Pottery in Rockport for 30 years and later retired from Aristokraft. He had also worked at Can-Tex, formerly in Cannelton.

In his spare time, J.R. enjoyed hunting, fishing and most recently, watching the birds in his yard. He always cherished time spent with his daughter until her passing. They took many drives together around Perry County.

Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Carol Sandage; sister, Helen Booker and a brother, Rick Sandage.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Freddie and Lorene Sandage; his beloved daughter, Beth Ann and a brother-in-law, Howard Booker.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Lilly Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time.
