James L. "Jim" Rennie, 67, passed away on December 9, 2022 at his home. He was born in Leopold, Indiana on May 1, 1955, son of Justus "Jack" and Aileen (Etienne) Rennie. Jim was a 1973 graduate of Perry Central High School. He was united in marriage on June 17, 1978 to Beverly J. Alvey at St. Paul Catholic Church, where he was a member. He retired in 2017 as a Lieutenant for Indiana Department of Corrections, where he worked for 30 years. Jim enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, trapping and was a member of the Indiana Fur Takers Chapter 7C. Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Beverly Rennie, Tell City; son, Brad Rennie (Courtney), Sulphur Springs; grandson, Mason Rennie; sisters, Kathryn Fisher, Jefferson City, MO, Mary Sparrow, Charlestown and Rita Mahoney ("Timba"), Tell City and a sister-in-law, Betty Sue Rennie, Gatchel. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Justin "Butch" Rennie. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM CST on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Rev. Tony Hollowell will officiate. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery, Newtonville. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00-7:00 PM with a praying of the Rosary at 6:45PM and Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope Cemetery in Newtonville. Huber Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Rennie.
