Jerry Eugene Jordan, 91, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Oakwood Health Campus.

He was born in Grayville, Illinois on November 15, 1934, the son of William Levi Jordan and Iva Fern (McGuire) Jordan. Jerry was a graduate of Grayville High School and completed post-secondary education at Teletronics Technical Institute with certification as an Electronic Technician.

He married Dorothy Catherine Axton on August 29, 1959, and served in the U.S. Army as a clerk typist from January 1958 to January 1960. Catholic in faith, Jerry was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church. In his free time, he enjoyed designing and building furniture and other woodworking projects.

Jerry was an electronic technician for General Electric in Owensboro, then, Benerson Corp. in Evansville, where he worked in electrical equipment design and retired from General Electric in Tell City where he was an engineering requisition specialist.

Surviving is his wife, Dorothy Jordan, Tell City; sons, Mark Jordan (Christine), Columbus, Chris “Jordy” Jordan (Lisa), Cannelton and Robert Jordan (Nick), New York, NY; grandchildren, Catherine Anne Mackinstosh (Jesse), William Levi Jordan, Andrew Tyler Jennings and Tara Lucas (Carl) and great granddaughters, Gemma Mackintosh, Addison Patmore (Zaden) and Emma Lucas.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Kevin Jordan, in 2010.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Friday, July 17, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Tony Hollowell will officiate. Burial will follow in ST. Mary’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 3:00-6:00 PM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. There will be no visitation prior to mass time on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
