Tell City, Indiana James "Jim" Stephens, 85, passed away on September 28, 2021 at Deaconess Midtown in Evansville. He was born in Tell City on January 14, 1936 to William and Rosena (Mullis) Stephens, who precede him in death. A Navy veteran, Jim retired from Commonwealth Aluminum in 2000 after more than 30 years. He enjoyed going dancing at William Tell Senior Citizens with his friend, Dorothy "Dot" Kessner and daily visits with his buddies at McDonalds. Jim liked to listen to music, especially rhythm and blues and mowing grass. Surviving is his son, Brian Stephens (Lisa), Santa Claus; step children, Patsy Wilson, Hawesville, KY, Jerry Persinger and Larry Persinger, both of Cannelton; sisters, Mert Braunecker and Betty Nance, Tell City; step grandchildren, Heather Knieriem, Wendi Persinger, Greg Rickel, Tracy Rickel and Kim Boswell and several step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Per Jim's request, services will be private. Burial will take place in New Cliff Cemetery in Cannelton. Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
