Jim L. Story, 68, passed away on January 12, 2026.

He was born in Albany, Kentucky on November 23, 1957. He was the son of Willie E. and Vera Christina (Cowan) Story.

Jim enjoyed mechanic work, especially working alongside his son. Lots of memories of him will be of his buying, selling and trading. He was known to leave the house with the intent to sell a shotgun but may come home with a boat that he traded for. And you can bet that he never paid full price for that boat as he loved the game of bartering. He commented once that he’d love to “have one of everything”.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Polly Story; son, Jimmy Story II (Cassie Leinenbach) and step grandchildren, Maddie and Riley Leinenbach.

Jim had eight brothers and sisters, some of which preceded him in death. His parents have also passed away.

There will be no services as his family is accommodating his wishes. Huber Funeral Home is assisting them.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
