Jimmy Applegate

Cannelton, Indiana –

James A. “Jimmy” Applegate, Sr., 71, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

He was born in Perry County, son of Franklin A. and Ada M. (Adkins) Applegate.

Jimmy was a carpenter, working in construction most of his life. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting frogs, going to shooting matches and always enjoyed going fishing.

Surviving is his wife, Vickie (McDaniel); children, Diana Rogers (Michael), Jimmy Applegate (Kristi)and Michele Ricketts (Wayne); stepdaughter, Chrissy Dunn; stepson, T.J. Allen; sister, Diane Richards; brothers, Roger Applegate (Linda) and Kenny Applegate (Carolyn); sister-in-law, Linda Applegate and several grandchildren, great grandchildren including step.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary, in infancy; brother, Dennis Applegate and stepson, Steve Allen.

There will be no services with burial in Simons Cemetery in Tobinsport. Huber Funeral Home, Cannelton Chapel.
