Troy, Indiana - John A. Winchell, 78, passed away on December 20, 2021, at home, with his wife, daughter and son-in-law at his side. He was born in Tell City on August 4, 1943, son of Ted and Bessie (Satterfield) Winchell who have preceded him in death. In Cannelton, on August 31, 1963, John was united in marriage to Flo Ann Chenault. John worked in maintenance and retired from the former Commonwealth Aluminum in Hawesville, Kentucky, where he had worked for over 32 years. He was a founding member and an elder of Agape' Community Church in Cannelton. John was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and horses. His faith and family were most important to him, but spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren was the highlight of his life. Surviving John are his wife of 58 years, Flo Ann Winchell; daughter, Natalie Johnson (Mike), Troy; grandchildren, Caleb Johnson, Isaac Johnson and Kailey Leibering (Bradley); great grandchildren, Owen Johnson and Laina Leibering and brothers, Bill Winchell (Kathy), Jeffersonville and Ronnie Winchell (Charlotta), Evanston. Besides his parents, John was also preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Moore and brothers, Jim Winchell and David Winchell. There will be visitation at Agape' Community Church on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 3:00 until 7:00 PM. There will be no funeral service that evening.
