Juliane Litherland

Juliane “Lee” Barbara Litherland, 89, passed away on October 11, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family.

She was born in Aschaffenburg, Germany, on January 24, 1936, the only child of Hans and Hilda (Staudt) Mensch.

Juliane met Merl Litherland, in Germany while he was serving in the United States Army and they were married on November 23, 1957.

Juliane loved to write. After moving to the United States, she routinely sent letters to her family in Germany and her pen-pal, Ellen. Her hobbies included crocheting, needlepoint and collecting angels. She also enjoyed traveling and taking drives with Merl and keeping up with her home; something she took pride in.

Surviving is her husband of 68 years, Merl Litherland, children, Vicki B. Dickman (Mike), Michael Litherland (Carla) and Mark Wayne Litherland (Karri); grandchildren, Ryan King, Stephanie Peckenpaugh (Danny), Dana Petri (Alan), Joe Dickman (Krystina), Crystal Altstadt (Dan), Aaron Litherland (Amanda), Tyler Litherland (Brittney), Brooke Sander (Alex), and Wyatt Litherland (Kaylee) and several great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Huber Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
