Karen Poehlein

Cannelton, Indiana – 

 Karen Sue Poehlein, 68, passed away on February 26, 2025.

She was born on December 3, 1956, a daughter of Paul M. and Nell Rose (Sisk) Embry.

 Karen worked from home having earned her associate’s degree in medical transcription. 

 An animal lover, Karen especially loved cats, dogs, ferrets, giraffes and sloths. She always advocated having your pets spayed or neutered. She also enjoyed listening to thunderstorms and seeing lighthouses. 

 Surviving is her best friend and companion of 24 years, John Lee; a sister, Barbara Matthews and her spoiled rotten Siamese cat, Elsa.

 Preceding her in death were her parents, a son in infancy, Jonathon and her husband, Ralph E. Poehlein. 

 Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM CST on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. 

 Memorial contributions may be made to Rivers Edge Animal Shelter or Perry County Humane Society.
