Derby, Indiana Kenneth D. "Kenny" King, 75, passed away November 22, 2019 at his home. He was born in Birdseye, Indiana on November 7, 1944, son of the late Lonnie and Susie (Sanders) King. Also preceding him in death were brothers, Lester and Ray King and sisters, Minnie Laswell, Agnes Chumbley, Louise Rush, Imogene Vogelmann, Nellie Chanley and Norma Cronin. Kenny was united in marriage on February 19, 1964 to Shirley Dawson, who survives. He had worked at Mulzer's Quarry in Derby for 15 years and retired in 2007 from United Minerals, where he worked in coal mines. Kenny enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, mowing grass and his beagles he had thru his life. He liked to tinker on lawn mowers, pull his pontoon to the river with "Old Blue", his cherished Dodge truck and sitting on his porch, in his swing, while having his coffee. A family man, the grandkids always looked forward to visiting and riding 4-wheelers at Thursday night suppers, which they shared for more than 25 years. Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Shirley King, Derby; daughters, Susie Kieser (Kenny), Derby, Gina Bradshaw (Lewis), Jasper, Angie Davis (Tony), Leopold and Tonia York (Jason), Dexter; brothers, Farroll King (Joy) and Garroll King, all of Birdseye; grandchildren, Natasha Newton (D.J.), Ashley Dixon (Jeremy), Amanda Esarey (Mark), Aaron Parker (Kate), Audrea Davis, Brendon Riddle, Dillon Kapp and Jalynn York and great grandchildren, Kamden Newton, Austin and Levi Dixon, Karli Cronin, Molli and Owen Esarey, Jordyn Mullins, Tristen Roark, Kiya Parker, Jace and Tessa Riddle. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CST Monday, November 25, 2019 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Bob Deel will officiate. Burial will follow in Lilly Dale Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-6:00 PM and Monday from Noon until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
