Linda James

Linda L. James, 69, passed away on February 4, 2026, at her home.

She was born in Perry County on February 7, 1956, to Herbert and Wanda (Jackson) Landers. She was a 1974 graduate of Perry Central High School

Linda was a CNA at Brickyard Healthcare-Lincoln Hills for 33 years, retiring in 2020. She also worked at Schwab Safe and Kimball International.

Linda enjoyed the simple things in life, such as mowing grass, being outside and taking care of her ducks, rabbits, chickens and horses. Her most valued time was spent with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends that she adored so much.

She is survived by her children, Crystal Frost (Manuel Leon) and Becky Northerner (Gary); step-son, Dennis James, Jr. (Abby); grandchildren, Brendan Frost (Kaylin), Alexis Northerner and Darcy Frost; step grandchildren, Gabrielle and Isabelle James; great grandchildren, Tyler Fulkerson, Rachelle Northerner and Griffith Frost; siblings, Herbie Landers, Jr. (Debbie), Mike Landers (Barb), Mary Riley (Chuck) and Anna Sandage (Roger) and half-sisters, Kathy Manning (Gary) and Nancy Ellis (Damion).

Preceding her in death was her husband, Dennis “Denny” James, Sr., her parents and brother, Billy Landers.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM CST on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Pastor Jack Masterson will officiate. Burial will follow in Smith Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 3:00-6:00 PM and on Sunday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
