Robert Linus James, 85, passed away on September 11, 2025. He was born in Mount Pleasant on September 23, 1939, a son of Ivan L. and Clarice (Etienne) James.
After graduating from Oil Township High School, Linus was united in marriage to Patricia Goffinet on October 15, 1960, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold.
He retired from DMI in 2001 where he had been employed for seventeen years. Linus enjoyed woodworking, playing cards and farming. He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus and Anderson-Township Volunteer Fire Department.
In his spare time, he made rosaries that he proudly shared with family and friends. Linus was an active member of St. Mark Catholic Church and had served on many committees at church.
Surviving him are his wife, Pat James; children, Steve James (Vicki), Tony James (Kathy), Cindy Taylor (Bob), Sherry Schraner (John), Christy Hilgenhold (Greg) and Michael James (Chrissy); siblings, Janet Schepers, Roland James (Janet), Nolan James (Betty) and Leonard “Tiger” James (Sheila); sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Ivan and Clarice James and a brother in infancy, Bernard James.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at St. Mark Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Duvelius will officiate. Huber Funeral Home is assisting with the Mass.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Catholic Church.
