Lori Lee Schaefer, 51, passed away on April 12, 2026, after a long, hard fight with cancer. She was born on October 30, 1974.

Lori was a sweet and caring soul that had an infectious laugh. Everyone who had the privilege to meet her loved her. Lori was very spiritual, loved to read the Bible and found a true relationship with God. She adored her dog, Angel, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Surviving is her mother, Janice James; sister, Jamie (Jeremy) Backer; nieces, Brittney (Cody) Cheatham, Courtney Backer and Kaydi (Trent) Rainey; and her great nephews and niece, Olivia and Grady Cheatham, Cooper Clanton and Brooks Rainey, who will be arriving in June.

She is preceded in death by her father, Michael Schaefer. 

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM CDT on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the American Legion Post 213 located at 1912 Main Street in Tell City. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. There will be a small ceremony followed by a meal and celebrations.

A private burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery at a later date. 

Because Lori loved animals, memorial contributions may be made to Rivers Edge Animal Shelter or to the American Cancer Society.
