Marie Sweat

Rockport, Indiana -

 Marie E. Sweat, 95, passed away on December 28, 2024. 

 She was born in Berkersheim, Germany on June 2, 1929, the daughter of Johann and Elizabeth (Schneider) Leister.

 Marie enjoyed caring for her home and family, sewing, family gatherings and her neighbors. She loved her dog, Max, and was thankful for his company.

 Her surviving family members include her son, Kenny Sweat (Norma “Sis”); grandchildren, Adam Sweat, Kyle Sweat (Maria) and Jennifer Karvunidis (Niko); great grandchildren, Carter, Dylan and Brantley Sweat and Bianca, Stella and Greta Karvunidis; her sister, Liesel Erlenbeck and dear friend, Crista Adamson

 Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Charlie Sweat in 2017 and her siblings, Ilse Schreine, Rosie Schmidt and Theresa Becker.

 Funeral services were held at Huber Funeral Home with burial in St. Augustine Cemetery in Leopold. Rev. Luke Waugh officiated.
