Listen to Obituary

Martha Graves, 73, passed away on February 18, 2026, at her home, surrounded by  family and friends.

She was born on August 15, 1952, daughter of Walter “Boob” and Hazel (Brown) Amos. Martha was a 1970 graduate of Tell City High School and was united in marriage to Morris “Smokey” Graves, on January 24, 1970, at Evangelical United Church of Christ.

In earlier years, Martha worked in maintenance at the old Perry County Court House, in Cannelton; a job she really enjoyed. She soon learned that she belonged at home, raising her two children and taking care of her family. Martha’s badge of honor came from a large family upbringing and family always came first. Martha was always very nurturing to animals; never knowing what she may bring home next.

Martha was a member of American Legion, Harry G. Myers Post 142 Auxiliary, where she served as an officer and V.F.W Post 2939 Auxiliary. She always looked forward to calling bingo at the Legion and helping with activities.

Surviving is her husband, Smokey Graves; daughter, Myra Stilwell (Steven); grandchildren, Cain Alvey (Kendra Broach), Kendall Dartt (Johnathon), Kyra Webster, Courtney and Wesley Stilwell; two great grandchildren, Addelynn and Parker Dartt; siblings, Sharon Mullis (Murl), Bill Amos (Darlene), Donna Kratzer, Marilyn McDaniel (Larry), Mary Amos, Allen Amos (Kathy) and Jo Sodrel (Ronnie).

Preceding her in death was her son, Milo Graves; her parents; and siblings, Jerry Amos, Terri Moore, Carolyn Amos, Bonnie Sabelhaus, Pat Reed and Linda Ball.

At the request of Martha, there will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.  Huber Funeral is honored to assist her family with arrangements.
