Tell City, Indiana –
Melissa J. McManaway, 65, passed away on December 3, 2025, at her home.
A lifelong resident of Tell City, Melissa married Glenn McManaway at St. Paul Catholic Church on August 19, 1989. Together they had a life built on the love of family and spending time together. The highlight of Missie’s life was being a grandma (and “mamaw”).
Missie worked at Perry County Memorial Hospital where she was a registered nurse in the emergency room for several years.
She loved to pitch horseshoes, camp, go boating, paint and play games with her grandbabies. Missie was known to play a few hands of Texas Hold ‘Em and always hoped that those scratch off lottery tickets would pay off someday. She loved to travel with her husband, especially to Virginia Beach, Virginia and Destin, Florida.
Surviving is her husband of 36 years, Glenn McManaway; children, Zach Stutsman (Casey), Lacey Lutgring (Kyle) and Jessie Bryant (Wade); grandchildren, Charlotte Stutsman, Oliver and Cecilia Lutgring and Bentley Bryant; siblings, Gwen Sims, Kevin Ballis, Tammy Marshall, John Ballis (Lauri), Kimmy Haney (Mark) and Bonnie Williams (Jon) and her mother-in-law, Dolores McManaway.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Virginia and Adrian Kincaid and Oscar Ballis, Jr.
Funeral services were private. Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, assisted her family with arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
