Patsy Zellers

Patsy L. Zellers, 89, passed away on September 28, 2026, at Oakwood Health Campus.

She was born on April 14, 1937, to Andrew and Edna (Glenn) Birchler.

A 1955 graduate of Tell City High School, Patsy soon married Frank “Poodie” Zellers in December of 1956. They were married for 50 years before his passing in 2007.

Patsy had worked at the family business, Zellers Garage, for over 40 years. She also worked at General Electric. Patsy was a faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella.

Patsy enjoyed playing Bridge and Euchre, traveling and loving her cats, Merle and Rosie. She looked forward to family cruises and bus trips with friends. Most of all, Patsy loved spending time with her family; which she was the heart of.

Surviving are her children, Michael Kent Zellers (Kim), Mark Zellers (Cheryl), Denny Zellers (Carol) and Keith Zellers (Amanda); a brother, Ronnie Birchler; grandchildren, Kassie Risse (Ryan), Kyla Rigby (Ben), Cherie Etienne (Jared), Cynthia Zellers, Wesley Zellers (Ashley), Dane Zellers (Ashley), Brandon Zellers (Lauren), Whitney Brown (Colt), Claire Stahly (Nick), Noah Roll and Emilie Roll (Hayden Shadwick) and 17 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her father, Andrew Birchler, her mother and stepfather, Edna and Charlie Hubbs, her husband, Poodie Zellers, a brother, Jerry Birchler, great granddaughter, Ava Marie Zellers and great grandson, Camiren Etienne. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CST on Friday, October 2, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Tony Hollowell will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 -7:00 PM with a D of I service beginning at 7:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00-9:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, Oakwood Health Campus Activity Fund or Perry County Memorial Hospital.

The Zeller’s family would like to acknowledge and say “thank you” to all the nurses, doctors and staff at Oakwood Health Campus, Perry County Memorial Hospital and Ascension St. Vincent, Evansville for the amazing care and kindness everyone had shown to Patsy and her family. It did not go unnoticed and will not be forgotten.
