Tell City, Indiana Paula Jean Sturgeon, 63, went home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2011. She was born April 5, 1948 in Cannelton, the youngest child of the late James Isaac and Nora Marie (Kellems) Simpson. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Virginia ""Doll"" Dupont and Leota Chenault, seven brothers, William ""Bill"", James ""Toots"", Charles, Franklin ""Sherman"" and Glenward Delano Simpson, and two in infancy. A homemaker, she had spent many years as a CNA. She was a 1967 graduate of Cannelton High School. She was a lifelong member of the Pentecostal faith and in 2002 became an Ordained Minister of the Gospel. Paula had been a co-pastor at Liberty Tabernacle. Paula enjoyed reading and studying the bible, singing and listening to gospel music, playing the piano, spending time with family and friends, and she loved animals, especially her housecats. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Roy A. Sturgeon; daughter, Amber Sturgeon; sisters, Ann James and Dorothy Wheatley, both of Tell City; 32 nieces and nephews,78 great nieces and nephews, and several great great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Bro. David Bolin will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Tabernacle Church.
