Peggy J. Heck, 89, passed away on February 22, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
She was born on January 11, 1935, the only child of Leonard and Lucille (Rollins) Reckelhoff, who preceded her in death.
Peggy was a 1953 graduate of Tell City High School. She soon married Ralph C. “Chris” Heck on July 10, 1954 at St. Paul Catholic Church, where she was a member.
An avid sports fan, Peggy rooted for I.U. athletics, the Los Angeles Dodgers and she loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in all their activities. Peggy would look forward to seeing her friends at bridge club and she loved to play the slots at the casino and later, stop by Red Lobster.
Surviving is her husband of 69 years, Chris Heck, Tell City; children, Cindy Cain (David), Tell City, Mike Heck (Angie), Huntingburg and Todd Heck (Sarah), Tell City; grandchildren, Cassie Holmes, Courtney Mitchell (Travis), Heather Loberman (Buddy), Whitney Deom (Justin), Jordan Heck (Carrice McDaniel) and Emily Bozarth (Tristan); great grandchildren, Kane Ubelhart and Lincoln Holmes, Alexandria Mitchell, Gabe and Laney Deom and Emory Bozarth and her daughter-in-law of many years, Susan Heck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Monday, February 26, 2024 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Kolbe Wolniakowski will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
Visitation will on Sunday from 1:00-5:00 PM and on Monday from 8:30-9:30 AM at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or Tell City Jr.-Sr. High School Athletics.
