Robbie Gibson

St. Croix, Indiana -

Roberta M. "Robbie" Gibson, 89, passed away on September 6, 2025. She was born in Perry County on April 19, 1936, the daughter of Shelbie and Iola (Sadler) Ransom. Robbie was the Valedictorian of her 1954 class of Oil Township High School.

She was united in marriage to Thomas E. Gibson on June 1, 1957, at Blue River Chapel. Tom died in 2011. Robbie worked at General Electric and retired in 2019, from Michael's Country Mart after ten years of cooking there.

Robbie loved being a homemaker, enjoying cooking, reading and gardening. She was the "Leave it to Beaver" wife and mom (minus the pearls) and liked University of Louisville basketball and of course, Castle High School boys basketball (where her son is the coach). An ideal evening at home for Robbie would be watching a good Hallmark movie with her family, who meant everything to her.

Surviving is her son Brian Gibson (Alisha), grandchildren, Grant Gibson (Tonya), Erik Gibson (Sophia), Spencer Gibson, Ashley Jager (Brian), Mitchel Gibson, Brittany Powell (Hunter) and Mackenzie Gibson; ten great grandchildren; sister, Lynda Gibson (Richard) and brother, Edd Ransom (Sue).

Preceding her in death were her parents, Shelbie and Iola Ransom; children, Mike Gibson (Amy) and Suzanne Gibson and brothers, Gary and Kenny Ransom.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CDT on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time. Kris Holzmeyer will officiate.
