Ruby Koressel

Ruby Ann (Seib) Koressel, 90, of Tell City, Indiana passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 14, 2025, with her son and daughter in law by her side.

Ruby was born on October 24, 1935, in Evansville to the late Edward and Valeda (Schreiber) Seib. Ruby was a 1953 graduate of Mater Dei High School. Ruby and her husband Paul were united in marriage on May 21, 1955, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and were married for 46 years until his passing in 2002. She was a longtime, devoted member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City and enjoyed attending Mass there. She would always arrive an hour early to make sure she could sit in the same pew each week. Since 1969, Ruby had been a member of the Epsilon Omega Chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa and later its associate chapter. She, and her late husband Paul, were members of Hoosier Heights Country Club in Tell City. Ruby was an accomplished golfer and played well into her 80’s. She was a ten-time club champion at Hoosier Heights and always made sure she took time to help younger golfers improve their games.

Surviving Ruby are her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Jackie Koressel; son-in-law, Bill Gunn; two brothers and their wives, Curt and Judy Seib and Richard and DeeDee Seib; sister-in-law and her husband, Susie and Gary Pierre; grandchildren, Brooke McWhirter and her husband, Kasey, Kara Ann Gunn and Trent Gunn and his wife, Kara Michelle, and great grandchildren, Bailey and Kate McWhirter, Gatlin Gunn, Myla and Layni Gunn.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Koressel in 2002; daughter, Kim Gunn in 2023 and by three brothers, Jim, Ralph and Gerald “Red” Seib.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Rev. Christopher Droste officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 6:00 PM on Wednesday at Huber Funeral Home, 1139 12th Street, Tell City, IN 47586 and from 9:00 AM until service time on Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 418 N. Wabash Ave, Evansville, IN 47712.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church, 814 Jefferson Street, Tell City, IN 47586.
